Emily Lawhead, PhD
CURATOR, ART HISTORIAN
Emily Lawhead (she/her) is Associate Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts in Salt Lake City. She received a PhD in the History of Art & Architecture and a certificate in New Media & Culture from the University of Oregon in 2022. Her research explores intersections of contemporary art and technology with an emphasis on Japanese new media artists and collectives.
Emily serves as Editorial Manager for the International Journal for Digital Art History (DAHJ) and is Assistant Curator of the DAHJ VR Gallery. She is also a Digital Futures Scholar with the Sainsbury Institute for the Study of Japanese Arts and Cultures.
